Aired April 30 on WPXI, Pittsburgh
Michele Newell, WPXI: Molyneaux Tile Carpet Wood has been around since 1930, a very popular family-owned business. While so many other businesses are getting hit so hard this one is ready to open back up tomorrow.
It happened so fast. One by one businesses began to shut down.
Pat Molyneaux, Molyneaux Tile Carpet Wood: We furloughed 95% of our of our staff
Michele: But starting tomorrow, Molyneaux Tile Carpet Wood, will open back up.
Pat: All of a sudden, in the last five days we have had more than double the number of appointments that we had a year ago, from people that want us to open back up.
Michele: There will be changes. Customers have 3 different ways to get what they need. One option is in-home appointments.
Pat: We're going in the home with masks and gloves, exercising all the CDC precautions.
Michele: Customers will be expected to wear masks too. Another option is a virtual appointment.
Pat: We can actually have the customers send us a photograph of their
room. We can superimpose digitally different floors in that room.
Michele: Or you can go to one of the Molyneaux's stores but it's by appointment only.
Pat: They would set an appointment to come in the store and they'd be the only customer in the store.
Michele: Patrick Molyneaux says he expects to bring 80% to 90% of his workers back in the next four weeks and also expects business to continue to boom.
